Google Search Console and Website Verification

GOOGLE SEARCH CONSOLE

Google Search Console

Just because you have published your blog doesn't mean that it is fully accessed by anyone who searches a particular keyword related to your blog. Your blog takes time to cache , and even then you have to upgrade your contents to keep up with the search analytics. But don't fret much as Google provides a free service for this purpose called Google Search Console.

(A webservice which helps webmasters to keep up and check the visibility  of their websites)

To verify your site on search console, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Select the link of your blog.
  2. Search 'Google Search Console' on Google.
  3. Click the get started option.
  4. You can select either Domain or URL prefix as property type. Choose the latter one.
  5. Click continue.
  6. You can verify your ownership  of property through different  ways:
  • By HTML file: downloading and uploading in root directory.
  • By HTML meta tag: copying and pasting meta tag on site homepage.
  • By Google Tag Manager: adding Java set code
  • By Domain Name Provider: DNS Data Record
By the second option , copy and paste the tag at the required place in blog. To check the working of URL, select URL inspection  from the left hand side of Search Console page. Paste the URL and click 'test live url'. Click on request indexing right after and submit response.

Copy URL of blog again and check the site by testing URL. Request indexing again and submit response.

After, click on the domain of our blog post and add '/sitemap.xml'. Copy the updated URL and paste it in site map URL description of search console.

After this process, you can copy the address of your blog and paste it in the search engine to see if it got catched.

Search Console is useful as it keeps the site in check and in some cases, resolve some server and loading issues.
